Sue become a Public Governor at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay in 2021. Driven by a desire to improve safety for both patients and staff after her own career was destroyed as a consequence of whistleblowing about patient harm. Her experience of 8 years of bullying and detriment, a non disclosure agreement and the ET have given her the experience to help others in a similar position. Unfortunately she found that it was impossible to encourage positive cultural improvements or give any real support to patients, relatives or staff who have been caused detriment by the trust, within the limited scope of the role of public governor, so in May 2023 she stepped down.
Sue is an experienced healthcare practitioner with a demonstrated history of working in NHS and private hospitals & in Specialist Sales in the healthcare industry. She is a Masters level qualified Diagnostic Radiographer with General, Orthopaedic and Theatre skills, & Advanced Ultrasound, Image Interpretation and Interventional Procedure skills in Breast. Experienced in Clinical Research, Medical Education, Pharmaceutical & Medical Device Sales, a healthcare professional with a Master of Science (MSc)in Breast Imaging from University of Leeds
